Many parents choose to capture these early days through a newborn photography session to preserve those fleeting memories forever. As a newborn photographer with over 12 years of experience, I often get asked similar questions from new parents preparing for their baby's first photoshoot. One of the most common questions about newborn photography is about timing. The best time to schedule a newborn session is typically when your baby is between 6-12 days old. During this time, newborns are still very sleepy, which makes it easier to pose them and capture those adorable curled-up positions. After two weeks, babies tend to be more alert and can become less flexible, which makes it a bit more challenging to get those classic newborn shots.
However, there are exceptions to this. For example, some babies may need extra time in the hospital or NICU, and we fully understand that! If that’s the case, just let us know, and we’ll gladly accommodate. We would never compromise your baby’s well-being for a photo session. Whether or not we proceed, your baby’s health and safety are always our top priorities!

This may seem long, but it allows plenty of time for feeding, soothing, and diaper changes. For your newborn photography session, you don't need to bring much! We are an all inclusive studio and we provide all the props, wraps, and backdrops needed for the shoot. Our studio is also equipped with a changing table, diapers, wipes, we even have extra pacifiers on hand if needed. Moms are more than welcome to bring their own, but rest assured, if you forget anything, we got you covered. If you have a special family heirloom or outfit you’d like to include in the photos, feel free to bring those as well!

In most newborn photography sessions, we capture babies using natural materials and neutral colors. Our studio offers a wide selection of unique outfits for you to choose from, adding a personal touch to your photos. However, if you have a specific outfit in mind, we can definitely incorporate it into the session! Just keep in mind that simple outfits often work best to keep the focus on your baby.
Absolutely! Including parents and siblings in the photos is a wonderful way to capture the bond between your family and the new baby. These images become timeless keepsakes that you will treasure for years to come. We can plan for some family portraits at the end of the session, so everyone gets to be a part of the special day.
